Rock Solid Race!

On 21st March 10 members of Kung Fu Soc conquered Rock Solid, a 5k/10k extreme obstacle race at Escot Park in Exeter. We prepared weeks before by going for Saturday morning runs together as a group, but nothing could've quite prepared us for the amount of mud, water and hay we encountered on the day!

Being in mid-March the weather conditions were less than tropical, but that didn't stop us from scrambling through muddy tubes, running through streams, submerging ourselves fully in mud baths, climbing over high frames and walls and countless other traumatising obstacles that may have well scarred us for life all in the name of charity fundraising.

Everyone was challenged mentally and physically, but it was incredibly fun and rewarding to take part in and definitely taught us all that we are capable of far more than we thought.

I would definitely like to do this event again next year as it taught us loads about teambuilding, really tested our fitness and also makes you feel like a generally awesome human being after completion, so there's no downsides really! Excluding the mud of course...
