End of Year Celebration

Earlier in May we celebrated the end of a long and busy year by having our all day end of year social. It was a great opportunity to kick back and have some fun, and also reflect on all the progress we've made throughout the year.

We started the day by getting the train to Exmouth beach. It was gloriously sunny and gorgeous on the beach, packing no sun cream was definitely an error on my part! After playing a few games on the beach, we had a drink and some food in a local pub and then got the train home to get ready for the evening.

We had an amazing dinner in the Thistle Hotel in the early evening. Our Sifu Rob attended which was great as well, and we handed out gifts to every committee member to show our gratitude for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

After that we headed to Monkey Suit where we had the VIP suite booked. We made the most of their excellent cocktail selection and played some rather interesting drinking games, which was a lot of fun. There was also an awesome band playing downstairs in Monkey Suit by chance as well, so we ended the night dancing away in style.

The day was perfect all in all, and made me realise not only how positively Kung Fu has influenced my life, but also how many new friends I'd made since joining. As Social Secretary this year I hope to plan many more awesome socials like this one!
